Course Description

The Civic and political participation Course is designed to help newcomers to understand the realities of community engagements, of rights and duties into a new country. There is a Glossary that learners can refer to that provides basic terms to start untangling this area, to reflect on which words are used to define voting and political systems; to approach the idea of community values, opportunities for volunteering, NGOs work; to understand terms used for complaining. Everything is quite simple and straightforward to allow for basic acquisition, although little more complex lexicon has been added. The Course contains few information on the host country language itself and three types of language exercises: true/false, multiple choice and fill the gap. Some images, audio and video files have been added. The Course is for autonomous use by the learners or can be used by language trainers in classroom.

The language course contains 3 types of exercises – truth / false questions, test questions with one correct answer and fill the gap exercises. The exercises follow each other and are arranged according to difficulty. Some exercises are accompanied by an audio file.
